Many people can’t take a medication due to its form or a non-active ingredient causing an allergic reaction or a sensitivity with unmanageable side effects. These excipients are not always necessary in a medication, for example a colouring, sweetener, gluten or lactose. We can compound the medication without the the non-active ingredients that can be a potential problem for some people.

In collaboration with your practitioner, pharmaceutical compounding has the advantage of being able to make some medicines from scratch, whilst leaving out certain ingredients, flavours, preservatives, colours etc. Sometimes we can even change the dosage form to a more acceptable one for example, changing a tablet to a liquid, or a rapid-dissolving tablet. We also have the option of adding specialised flavours to these dosage forms, which can make the medication more palatable to create an ease of dosing.

At Gold Coast Compounding, we know that each child is unique and we will always endeavour to find a solution to your individual medication needs.
